Took a selfie with a differently abled student, encouraged all students
Chief Minister inaugurates the 14th Turyanaad-2025 at MANIT
Bhopal:Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Hindi has become an identity of India on the global stage. From the United Nations to international forums like BRICS and G-20, Prime Minister Shri Modi presents India’s pride and culture to the world through Hindi. Hindi is one of the most widely spoken languages globally. It played a crucial role in India’s freedom movement. Great personalities from non-Hindi speaking states—like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and Vinoba Bhave—also upheld Hindi above all other languages.
Hindi reflects a sense of emotional connection. It holds the place of a mother tongue among all the languages and serves as a medium of communication between them. Hindi is not just our language—it is also our identity. The present time is right for establishing Hindi as the national language.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the “Turyanaad-25” event organized at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, on Saturday evening. He inaugurated the festival by lighting the ceremonial lamp and offering prayers to Goddess Saraswati.
Dr. Yadav stated that the Turyanaad festival has established a distinct identity. Calling it an annual celebration of art, he said that the festival is a declaration of the renaissance of Hindi language and Indian culture. He also invited the organizing committee of Turyanaad to hold a program at the Chief Minister’s residence to promote the national language. He encouraged a differently-abled student, Raja Patel, by taking a selfie with him.
Dr. Yadav noted that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the National Education Policy 2020 has been implemented. All courses in every university across the state are now being conducted. Earlier, very few medical colleges were there forcing students to go abroad for medical studies. But now, a significant number of medical colleges and hospitals are being established in the state, benefitting students and citizens of small towns and rural areas. Moreover, medical education in Madhya Pradesh is now also being offered in Hindi.
The Chief Minister emphasized that language is our identity. Without the upliftment of the mother tongue, a society cannot progress. Hindi is not merely a language—it is a consciousness and our pride. Because of Hindi, India holds a unique place in the world today. Swami Vivekananda and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee brought global respect to Hindi.
Dr. Yadav shared that the real name of the South American country Suriname is “Shreeram,” a fact he learned from the Surinamese ambassador during an event in Ujjain.
He extended Engineer’s Day (15 September) greetings to the students, faculty, and all the dignitaries present at the Turyanaad festival.
MANIT’s Executive Director, Mr. Shailendra Jain, said that the Chief Minister accepted an informal invitation from the students. He added that, alongside technical education, the institution runs over 35 committees to promote extracurricular activities, enabling the holistic development of students.
Dr. Santosh Choubey, Chancellor of RNTU and an alumnus of MANIT, said that 14th September is National Hindi Day. Today, Hindi is spoken in 100 countries and taught in 150 universities globally. Around 600 million people speak Hindi worldwide. In India, technical and medical education is now being conducted in Hindi. The acceptance of Hindi is growing across all sectors.
Mrs. Savita Dixit, convener of the Turyanaad organizing committee, said that the festival fosters cultural values, ethics, and social responsibilities among students while also connecting them to their rich and ancient heritage.
Also present on the occasion were the President of the Student Council, Mr. Mrityunjay Singh Chauhan, along with a large number of students from the institute.
