Sunil Goyal Gwalior :Amity University Madhya Pradesh (AUMP), Gwalior, with Amity Institute of Pharmacy (AIP) has been organised one day national seminar on “Emerging Opportunities in Pharmacovigilance for Healthcare Professionals” on 22 January 2020. The conference was declared open after lightning of lamps and felicitation of guests and by opening remarks of Lt. Gen. V.K. Sharma AVSM (Retd.), Hon,ble Vice Chancellor Amity University, Gwalior. The occasion was graced with chief guest Dr. G.N. Singh (Director, Indian Pharmacopoeial Commission , Ghaziabad, India) and Dr. S.K. Jain (Director, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. H.S. Gaur University, Sagar, Madhya Prdesh). Dr. Ramakrishna Prasad (Senior Manager, Project Life Sciences, Cognizant, Hyderabad), and Dr. Rohit Singhal (Senior Safety Scientist, Global Pharmacovigilance-IQVIA, Ahmedabad) were the key note speaker for the seminar. The seminar was started with the opening remark of Hon VC Lt Gen VK Sharma AVSM (Retd) to increase public awareness on safe, effective and rational use of medicines. In the first phase of seminar, Dr GN Singh has been addressed the gathering and highlighted the “opportunities in Pharmacy profession and Pharmacovigilance program of India”. The first keynote speaker Dr. Ramakrishna Prasad has been spoken about “prospective of Pharmacovigilance in academics and digital pahrmacovigilance and current need of industry”. Other key note speaker Dr. Rohit Singhal has delivered a talk on “Pharmacovigilance: Prospects in India”. After the lectures seminar book was released by Hon,bleVC and other guests as well mementos were presented to guests..
In Post lunch technical session of the seminar Dr. Rohit Singhal conducted a workshop on “Pharmacovigilance”. Total more than 44 posters and about 15 oral presentations have been done in seminar. The valedictory session was started with the address of chief guest Dr. S.K. Jain and concluding remarks of Dr. A.N. Nagappa. The Hon VC and Pro VC Amity University awarded the winners of poster and oral presentations. The seminar was declared closed by vote of thanks of Prof (Dr) M.P. Kaushik (Pro-Vice-Chancellor).
